We only collect information that is strictly necessary to run the Barakah Pantry app, personalize your experience, and provide premium features. This falls into two categories:

1. Personal Data You Provide Directly

• Account Details: When you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials (hashed securely via Supabase Auth).
• Pantry & Recipe Data: Your home pantry ingredients list, saved recipes, custom recipes, dietary goals, wellness indicators, and list configurations.
• Community Activity: Public recipes you publish, forum posts, likes, shares, comments, and community leaderboard challenges.
• Gamification Data: Earned achievements, Barakah Points balance, and task streaks.

2. Device & Usage Analytics

• App Metrics: Device model, operating system version, anonymous crash logs, app features accessed, and session duration.
• No Sensitive Identifiers: We do NOT collect your precise GPS location, phone contacts, photos, or physical biosensors.

We use your information exclusively to power the core app experience. We promise never to monetize your profile by selling or sharing data with third-party advertisers.

• Personalization: Recommending recipes based on what ingredients are currently in your pantry and matching your dietary filters.
• Sunnah Integrations: Sending timed notifications reminding you of Sunnah fasting diets, healthy organic choices (dates, honey, olive oil), and nutrition tips.
• Gamification & Community: Calculating and updating your Barakah Points balance, managing ranks on the leaderboards, and displaying posts within community feeds.
• Support: Responding to help tickets, troubleshooting bugs, and notifying you about critical security updates.

We do not share your personal information except as strictly necessary to host our infrastructure or process secure operations. The following third-party integrations are used:

• Supabase: Our primary backend platform. Supabase handles database hosting, user registration authentication, and cloud data syncing.
• App Store Billing: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Subscriptions are billed directly through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We never collect, store, or process your credit card details. By purchasing a Pro subscription, you also agree to Apple's standard Terms of Use (EULA).
• AI Infrastructure: Large language models generate custom recipe recommendations based on your pantry inputs. No personal identity data is passed to these models.

Protecting user trust is paramount. We employ industry-standard protocols to safeguard database storage:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 protocols, and at rest using AES-256 standards.
• Hashing: Authentication passwords undergo cryptographic hashing and are never visible in plain text.
• Access Controls: Database queries are secured via strict Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) policies, ensuring users only access their authorized records.

We respect your ownership of your data. Regardless of location, we support the following rights:

• Access & Export: You can review or export your pantry items, points, and saved recipes directly from the profile settings.
• Correction: You can edit your username, email, and goals anytime.
• Permanent Deletion: You can permanently erase your account and entire data footprint. This is non-reversible.

Barakah Pantry is not designed or intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a parent or guardian and suspect your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately. If we discover we have accidentally collected data from a child under 13, we will purge it from our active databases immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to align with legal guidelines or app improvements. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify active users via in-app banner reminders.
